I am the sister of Alugupandi.
I also have been coming here since Devanayagi was here.
Since my father and mother both work in the stone query, I have to cook everyday
for them. They both work from 9 o’clock in the morning till to 6 o’clock at
night. Only on Sundays my mother cooks. Most of the time when I am not in school
I also take care of a couple of little children when their mother is working I
am very good at that and the little children see me as their little amma.
I attend the Hindu Aided middle school in Salichunthai, I am in the 5th
standard. I should be in the 7th but when I changed school they put me 2
standards down, I don’t know why. Now I am the best of the class.
I like to learn to read and speak good English so that I can become an English
teacher and teach the rich people English in T. Kallupatti.
I come to the IFC center because I like to make Kolam and talk to Devanayagi and
I want to teach her Tamil.
When I am allowed by my parents to eat here I like the vegetables sometimes.
I love to explore in the fields around my village and I know a lot about the
plants and animals that live there.
I would like to learn al kinds of dancing, in a school competition I won the
first price for dancing.
