IFC Temple of Divine Love Europe and the parent body in India have taken
upon themselves to help Street Kids and the children in a tiny village out side
Madurai.
Kilamkulam cries for help.
About 40 kilometers south of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, South India is the fairy
village of Kilamkulam with a population of 700 people of 300 men, 250 women and
150 children in all living in utter poverty and misery. Those people belong to a
community called Moopai, a sect of Hinduism. They are tied down to their
ancestral jobs of felling trees, digging wells and Quarry work. While a few men
are working as coolies in the Agriculture sector, women and children are grazing
goats. They depend solely on rain which more often then not is a total failure
due to draught condition.
Despite all the hardships, it's praise worthy, that these people are God
fearing and celebrate all their communal functions in a spirit of love and
unity. Due to lack of education they have no access to Government or
professional jobs. With a small primary school for 45 children with only one
class room, accommodating 5 grades with only one class room and two teacher
without any amenities there seem to be no hope for this poor villagers to
improve their lot in the years to come. They are anxiously looking forward to
someone to focus his or her eyes of mercy towards them
Anouk's children and Tantra Teacher's students offering sweet to the 45
children at the school in the village. Sweet and food are easy to provide to
provide to the children, but they need more.
Extra class rooms, books, smaller number classroom and more teacher. This can
only be achieved with YOUR HELP. Send us your donation to-day, and email to us
as to how you would like your money to be spent. Our building project includes
the following:
!. dormitory for children and women without homes. The dormitory will cost about
19,000 Euro.
2. 3 extra classroom at about 5,000 Euro each.
3. An art and
cultural center that will serve both the homeless kids and the village kids will
about 25,000 Euro depending on the exchange rate at that time.
The building
project will also employ the villagers. At the present moment we offer 50
villagers who work at our building site who were without employment for years
due to the drought.
When the college is completed, all profit derived from the
collage will be used to maintain the daily activities of the home and the
village kids.
IFC will start a sustainable permi-culture or organic
Agricultural project on 4 acres, with this we hope to sustain the villagers and
all our food need. The spending of your funds will be jointly supervised by IFC
Netherlands and India.
Look at the faces of the children, how a gift of only a
few sweet can give such joy, how will they feel if the life changes all
together.
